Charles V. Rexroat, 85, of Marseilles, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Morris Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marseilles with Fr. Ryan Mattingly officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.
He was born on March 1, 1941, in Ottawa, to Vernon and Catherine (Mautino) Rexroat. On October 1, 1966, he married Elaine Winders of Marseilles who survives.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marseilles. Chuck served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was employed as a union carpenter with Local 174 and owned and operated CR Builders until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears, and loved his family.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Elaine; one son, Chuck (Alizon) Rexroat; one daughter, Alayna (Rick) Stubblefield; three grandchildren, Ryan (Kailey) Rexroat, and Jake and Kylie Stubblefield; two great-grandchildren, Parker and Ledger Rexroat; a sister-in-law, Valerie Winders; and his Texas and Illinois nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Vargocko; and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Winders.
Memorials may be directed to Lightways Hospice in Joliet.
Treasure him Lord in your Garden of Rest, for when on earth, he was one of the best.
