Sean Paul Jones, 57, of Marseilles, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, in his home.
Sean was born on June 8, 1969, in Brigham, Utah, to Stephen Edward and Catherine Ann (Heiman) Jones. He married his soulmate, Dana Christine Brook, on July 23, 2018.
He proudly served his country for ten years in the United States Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. A man of honor, strength, and unwavering dedication, Sean carried the values he learned in the Marines throughout his life. He worked as a foreman in the Iron Workers Local 1. Sean loved motorcycles, four-wheelers, camping, traveling, woodworking, watching football, and country-living. He was a proud patriot and a devoted Christian who attended Heritage Chrisitan Center. Sean cherished his family, adored his three hound dogs, and lived by old-fashioned values. While Captain America was his favorite superhero, Sean was the superhero of his own family, the rock and the protector of those he loved.
Sean is survived by his wife, Dana; his children, Corey (Gabrielle) Jones, Cameron Jones, and Elyssa (Nick) Garza; his grandson, Alexander Jay Jones; his mother, Cathy; his sister, Michelle (Chad) Shaver-Bonifant; and his nieces and nephew, Alexandria (Michaela) Shaver, Samatha Shaver, and Tyler Shaver.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 11 at Heritage Christian Center in Ottawa, IL. Funeral services will follow officiated by Pastor Debra Wenger. Military honors and a celebration of life will follow the services at the church. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements and cremation rites.
