Michael Joseph Borys, 42, of Ottawa, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at his home.
Memorial visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 6 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Shawn Saldano of the Marseilles United Methodist Church officiating.
He was born on January 1, 1984, in Ottawa, IL, to Michael Jay and Stella Jo (Applebee) Borys.
Mike loved music, especially Metallica, comedy movies, and was an avid sports fan, rooting for the White Sox and Cowboys. He enjoyed 4-wheeling. Mike had a heart of gold, a wonderful sense of humor, and was loved by everyone.
He is survived by his father, Michael (Amy) Borys; his siblings, Margaux (Jomarco) Caballero, Christina (Jason) Yannayon, Kenny Andrews, Zachary (Jordan) Zwart, Shana Popelka, and Brock, Luke and Lexis Zwart; his grandfather, James Davies; his nieces and nephews, Chloe, Monty, Charlotte, Evander, and Emilia; his aunt, Connie Borys; and his uncles, Darren Schroeder, Ted Borys, and Mike Smith.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Stella Jo Andrews Gonzalez; his grandparents, Michael Borys, Carolyn Buchannan, Calvin and Dolores Schroeder, and Gladys Davies.
