Terry W. Bentz, Jr., age 53, of Marseilles, entered his heavenly home on Monday, April 27, 2026.
Terry was born August 6, 1972 in Harvey, Illinois to Terry W. Bentz and Christy A. (Brown) Bentz. He was known for his relentless work ethic, sharp sense of style, and love of technology. Terry lived his life with confidence and charisma, leaving a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Terry built a successful career as a car salesman. At jus 11years old, he began helping his father at Terry’s Auto Haus, where his lifelong passion for cars first took root. His strong drive and natural ability to connect with people set him apart. Terry didn’t just sell cars—he built relationships, earning the trust of his customers and the respect of his colleagues. Whether arriving early to prepare for the day or staying late to ensure a customer drove away satisfied, he took great pride in his work.
Terry is survived by his loving parents, Terry and Christy Bentz of Ottawa; his children Paxson John (Kayley Elizabeth) Bentz of Morris, Madison Hais (Ryan Christopher) Scepansky of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Macy Claire Bentz of Marseilles; and his grandchildren Wyatt, Josie and Parker. He is also survived by his sisters, Tina (John) Rowe and Trista (Paul) Harsted of Ottawa.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 3:00 pm Sunday, May 3rd at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home in Ottawa. Private inurnment will be at Oakwood Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Celebrate Recovery program at Crossbridge Community Church.
