The rental assistance program offered through the Illinois Housing Development Authority starts taking applications Monday. People who have been affected financially by the coronavirus outbreak can get up to 15 months or up to $25,000 worth of help paying their rent. They must rent the home as their primary residence. Other qualifications may be being laid off, losing child support payments during the pandemic, and having to stay home with children because their schools are closed.
