Michael James Thrush, 68, of Ottawa, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at his home in Ottawa surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2026 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa with Rev. Patrick Wille, officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Michael was born on May 7, 1957 in Ottawa to Francis and Ellen (Sandburg) Thrush. He worked for Thrush Asphalt for 40 years. Michael loved golfing, hunting, fishing, and always helping his neighbors and friends.
He is survived by his lifelong partner of 30 years, Marilyn Young of Ottawa; two children, Matthew Cupples, Joshua (Laura) Thrush; a step-daughter, Christina Jones; three grandchildren, Haydie Thrush, Miranda (Nathanel) Husser, Maryassa Jones; two great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Beau Husser; three sisters, Sue Cook, Barb Thrush, Mary Montano; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Ellen Thrush.
