Mid was born on April 15, 1933, in Naplate, to Walter and Lona (Perdue) Higgins. In 1948, she married Earl E. Craven Jr., who preceded her in death in 2011.

She was a talented seamstress and was employed at Dan-Jac in Marseilles. She was very independent and loved to fish and travel. She kept up with current events, was very well-read, and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Connie Trybus, Theresa Allen, Linda Craven, Tom (Angela) Craven, and Joan (Donald) Bennett; seven grandchildren, Neil Craven, Jacqueline Lednicky, Dawn Yandle, Colleen Burns, Donny Bennett, Sarah Craven, and Drew Craven; many great grandchildren; one sister, Anna Swartz; and two brothers, Danny and Roger Higgins.
Mid was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her two sons-in-law, Jack Trybus and John Allen; her siblings, Esther Huss, Pearl Burns, Thelma Glenn, Velma Eiben, and Phil Higgins.
Memorials may be directed to the Marseilles Volunteer Fire Protection District.
