Diane D. Pohar, 79, of Ottawa passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025 at OSF St Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Ottawa, with Rev. Ron Rock, officiating. Burial will follow at Deer Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2025 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, and at the church on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.
Diane was born on Nov 19, 1946 to Tilson & Charlotte (Eser) Lewis in Ottawa, IL. Diane married Ronald Pohar on April 9, 1966 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Marseilles. Diane worked at Walmart for 25 yrs and retired from there. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, a member of their Alter Guild, and was on their Board of Directors. Diane loved her family dearly and was a big fan of the Cubs, Bears, & the Bulls.
She is survived by three sons, Ron (Linda) Pohar II of Ottawa, Todd Pohar of Ottawa, and Brandon (Vicki) Pohar of LaSalle; four grandchildren, Shea Pohar of Ottawa, Hanna Pohar of Orlando Fla, Jaxon Pohar of Ottawa, & Scarlet Pohar of Ottawa; a sister, Donna Pohar of Ottawa; sister-in-law, Connie Cresto of Tigard Oregon; brother-in-law, Scott “Buzzy” (Kim Sharp) Pohar of Deer Park; also many nieces & nephews & great nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Pohar, her parents, Tilson & Charlotte Lewis, her three brothers in law Larry Pohar, Greg Cresto, & Bill Bayer, & her sister-in-law Sandy Bayer.
Pallbearers will be Shea Pohar, Hanna Pohar, Jaxon Pohar, Nick Pohar, Danielle Scifers, & Brian Scifers. Honorary Pallbearers are Scarlet Pohar & Marc Pohar
