Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger and Democratic Congressman Dan Beyer of Virginia introduced a bill last week to help stop suicides in America.
The Campaign To Prevent Suicide Act would set up an educational campaign to raise awareness for a three digit suicide lifeline phone number and suicide prevention resources.
Kinzinger says we must prioritize compassionate polices that provide a support system for those who are struggling.
He says he is proud to work with Representative Beyer on the legislation.
Dan Beyer says the bipartisan legislation is designed to help change the culture around suicide so all Americans know to engage rather than ignore the signs of suicidal thoughts.
