Ronald G. Pohar, 78, of Ottawa, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025 at the Mueller funeral home in Ottawa, with Rev. Ron Rock officiating. Burial will follow at Deer Park Cemetery, where Full Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 33 Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Ronald was born on December 17, 1946 in Ottawa to John and Helen (Bonge) Pohar. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. Ronald married Diane Lewis on April 9, 1966 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Marseilles. He loved farming, hunting, fishing, and was a big fan of the Chicago Cubs.
He is survived by his wife Diane; three sons, Ronald G. (Linda) Pohar II, Todd M. Pohar, and Brandon L. (Vicki) Pohar; four grandchildren; a brother Scott (Kim Sharp) Pohar; and a sister Connie Cresto.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Sandy Bayer; brother, Larry Pohar; and two brothers-in-law Bill Bayer and Gregg Cresto.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren; Shea, Hanna, Jaxon and Scarlet, Matt Zniecki, and Elmer Walter. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nicholas and Marc Pohar and Danielle Scifers.
