David Verona, 62, of Ottawa, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Friday, February 14, 2025 at St. Patrick’s Church, Ottawa with Rev. Justin Ramza officiating. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-7:00 PM on Thursday at the Mueller Funeral Home, Ottawa.

Mr. Verona was born on August 21, 1962 in Ottawa to Russell and Julie (Pretto) Verona. He graduated from Marquette High School and went on to attend Augustana College. He married Diane Hazard on June 8, 1985 at St. Columba Church, Ottawa. He worked for James Hardie in Peru for 21 years.

Mr. Verona loved taking trips with his wife, especially to his favorite spot, Ireland. Together they took many family vacations to Wisconsin Dells. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his two furry companions, Cooper and Flynn. He also enjoyed watching football.

Survivors include his wife, Diane; his mother, Julie Verona of Ottawa; two daughters, Jessica (Amanda) Verona of LaSalle and Lauren (Michael) Martinez of Peru; three grandsons, Parker, Nolan, and Greyson; one brother, Paul (Julie) Verona of Ottawa; one sister, Claudia (Don) Thomas of Pevely, MO; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Mary Hazard; and two sisters -in-law, Debbie (Dennis) Allen and Denise (Rodney) Vangelisti.

He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents; his father-in-law, Ronald Hazard; and niece, Tommi Vangelisti.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Allen, Tyler Verona, Michael Martinez, Parker Verona Darnell, Don Thomas, and Paul Verona.
