Hilda Mary Hicks, 88, of Marseilles, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Morris Hospital.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, November 17 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Bill Clark officiating. Graveside services will be at will held at 10 a.m. Monday in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.
She was born on January 5, 1936, in Marseilles, to Harold and Thelma (Peters) Carlson. In 1955, she married John M. Hicks of Marseilles, who preceded her in death in 1996.
Hilda and her husband John owned and operated Hicks H & H Marathon in Marseilles and Johnny’s Corner tap, where she cooked until her retirement.
Hilda is survived by her children, John “Buddy”, Jerry (Debbie), and Mike Hicks, and Laurie (Pippy) Pittman; twelve grandchildren, Chad and Jared Hicks, Sarah (Nick) Sisto, Christopher (Amanda) Moore, Samantha (Matt) Wooton, Michelle (Zac) Stark, Tiffany (Zach Horwitz) Pittman, Matthew Pittman, Megan (Jay) Timm, DJ (Jacquelyn) Buffo, Jonathon (Sara) Buffo and Jody (Joe) Terrando; twenty-three great-grandchildren, Olivia, Meredith, Kayleah, James, Michael, Ronan, Nora, Owen, Matthew, Maddilynn, Maegan, Gracie, Carter, Zia, Crosby, Bodhi, Gentry, Jaxon, Jacob, Dominic, Hudson, Dylan, and Dalton; her siblings, Shirley Partridge, and Don (Rita) Schanks; many nieces and nephews; and her extended family, Cindy Meany and Mary Blue.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Johnny; one son, Ronnie; and her brother, William Carlson.
Memorials may be directed to the Marseilles Nursing service.
Pallbearers will be Chad and Jared Hicks, Matt Pittman, Christopher Moore, Mike Pittman, Matt Wooton, and Zac Stark.
