On August 29th, 2024, at approximately 1:10 PM, the Ottawa Police Department
responded to the 2700 block of Lainey Ave in reference to a report of a suspicious
female walking through several backyards. As Officers arrived, they were directed
to a house in the 2600 block of Cherie Ln. and advised the female was last seen
entering the attached garage. Officers responded to the house and quickly
apprehended Tania Torres-Magana (11/19/1987) of Streator, IL.

As a result, Torres-Magana was charged with one count of Residential Burglary
(Class 1 Felony) and Violation of Conditions of Pretrial Release (Class A
Misdemeanor). Torres-Magana was taken to the LaSalle County Jail to await a
detention hearing.

The charge of Violation of Conditions of Pretrial Release stems from TorresMagana being released from the LaSalle County Jail on pretrial conditions earlier in the day after she was charged with Residential Burglary from a case in Streator IL.

All individuals have the right to be presumed innocent.
