OBITUARIES:
 
Philip Scott Carretto, 67, of Marseilles, passed away on July 8th, at his home. Mass of Christian Burial for Philip Scott Carretto will be at St. Patrick’s Church today at 10:00 AM. A luncheon will be held at The Knights of Columbus directly after the graveside service.

Yvonne A. (Thomas) Price, 80, of Ottawa, passed away on Monday, July 8th, at LaSalle County Nursing Home. Funeral services for Yvonne A. (Thomas) Price will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. Visitation for Yvonne A. (Thomas) Price will be from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Oakwood Memorial Park, on a later date.

Patricia “Pat” Wagner 81 of Utica passed away peacefully with family at her side on July 10th, at OSF St. Joseph Hospital in Bloomington. A funeral mass for Patricia “Pat” Wagner will be held on Tuesday, July 16th at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church in Utica. Burial for Patricia “Pat” Wagner will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Utica. Visitation for Patricia “Pat” Wagner will be Monday, July 15th, from 4 to 7 pm at the Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle. Additional visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 16th from 9 am until the time of services.

White Sox Host Pirates
The Chicago White Sox look to get back in the win column when they host the Pittsburgh Pirates at Guaranteed Rate Field tonight. The White Sox just dropped two of three to the Minnesota Twins earlier this week. The Southsiders are in last place in the AL Central at 27-and-68. Garrett Crochet starts for Chicago tonight. 6:30 pre-game and a first pitch at 7:10 PM.

Cubs Blowout Orioles In Series Finale
(Baltimore, MD) — The Chicago Cubs completed a sweep of the Baltimore Orioles with an 8-0 drubbing at Camden Yards. Seiya Suzuki was three-for-five with two doubles and three RBI, while Dansby Swanson chipped in with a home run and two RBI. Starter Justin Steele went seven innings and did not allow a run en route to a victory. Chicago has won six of its last seven and is in fourth place in the NL Central at 45-and-49. Kyle Hendricks starts for the Northsiders against St. Louis tonight.

Cubs Place Bellinger On Injured List
The Chicago Cubs will be without Cody Bellinger for the foreseeable future. The former NL MVP was placed on the ten-day injured list yesterday because of a fractured finger on his left hand. Bellinger was hit by a pitch during the seventh innings of Chicago’s win over the Orioles on Wednesday.  Bellinger is hitting .269 with nine home runs and 37 RBI this season. The Northsiders called Alexander Canario up from Triple-A to replace Bellinger on the roster.

Sky Fall To Liberty
The Chicago Sky fell apart in the fourth quarter of a 91-76 loss to the New York Liberty at Barclays Center. The Sky trailed by just one entering the final quarter before getting outscored 28-14 to end the game. The Sky are in seventh place in the WNBA at 9-and-13. They host New York tomorrow.

Angel Reese Extends Double-Double Streak
Angel Reese continues to make history. The Chicago Sky rookie forward extended her WNBA record double-double streak to 15 straight games during last night’s 91-76 loss to the New York Liberty at Barclays Center.
