Money, protective vests, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition were given to a few local police departments during a Back the Badge rally yesterday. Tracy Mix of Mix’s Trading Post in Utica made or reloaded the ammunition. He says it’s important to him to support the police.
Back the Badge founder Jaye Debates says 200 rounds of ammunition went to the LaSalle Police Department. A check for $250 went to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department. And bullet protection vests went to the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Department and Peru Police Department.
