Two commodity board positions are up for election in this area. The Illinois Department of Agriculture says one is for the Illinois Corn Marketing Board. The district covers four counties including LaSalle, Livingston, and Grundy. There’s a May 15th deadline for submitting candidate petitions.
The other position is on the Illinois Sheep and Wool Marketing Board. That district covers 15 counties including Grundy and Livingston. The petition deadline is May 31st.
To be eligible for either board, you must be at least 18 years old and have produced or marketed the pertinent commodity in 2020.
