This looks like it’ll be the first full year of the Canal Corridor Association’s bike share program. It started in late 2019 and then took a pause in 2020 when the pandemic hit. Executive Director Ana Koval says there are five places along the canal trail to rent bicycles for $5 per hour each. Riders don’t have to stay on the trail.
The rental spots are in LaSalle, Morris, Channahon, Lockport, and the Midewin (mih-DAY-win) National Tallgrass Prairie. Most people who rent the bicycles will probably drop them off at the place where they picked them up, but they can leave them at any of the other spots if they ride that far.
