Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs recently sent a letter to the country’s biggest money managers asking them not to donate to 147 Republicans in Congress. They are the Republicans who objected to certifying the presidential race results. He says he intends to call attention to those who would delegitimize the government. He claims it’s not really a partisan thing, although Republicans who are critical of him doubt that.
Frerichs says he won’t ask money managers not to withhold funds from Democrats who opposed Donald Trump’s certification in 2017. He says protests over Trump’s win were peaceful.
