The CDC is expanding its nasal swabbing program to Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The program is intended to test international travelers for COVID-19 and other infectious diseases upon entry into the U.S. Officials say the addition of O’Hare and Miami International should provide more data about respiratory infections specifically coming from South America, Africa, and Asia. Since launching in 2021, the program has been credited with detecting coronavirus variants faster than other systems in place.
