(Kansas City, MO) — Those who suffered frostbite in Kansas City in January may need amputations. Grossman Burn Center Medical Director Dr. Megan Garcia said 70 percent of people who got frostbite in the below-zero temperatures are now being told to schedule amputation procedures. Many fans attended the playoff game between the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. The temperature was negative four at kick-off with a wind chill of negative 27 degrees. Garcia said she thinks the number of amputations will be between ten and 20.
