LPHS released the following statement yesterday.

Following a distressing incident on an LP school bus this Wednesday, the school and bus company are taking corrective action against the driver. Reports from students indicated that the driver was operating the bus erratically bound for Oglesby, significantly exceeding the speed limit. Superintendent Dr. Steven Wrobleski revealed that the driver was observed traveling approximately 70 miles per hour and playing the unsettling sound of an Aztec death whistle through the bus speakers. Superintendent Wrobleski promptly informed parents of the occurrence, affirming that the driver had been relieved of duties. At the same time, an investigation, set to commence on Thursday, will be conducted utilizing bus surveillance footage. Emphasizing the importance of student safety during transportation, Wrobleski condemned the driver’s behavior as unacceptable and apologized to the affected children.
