LaSalle County and the townships, cities, and villages in it are getting a total of $2.4 million in the next Rebuild Illinois money distribution. The funding is for road and bridge improvements, traffic signal upgrades, new storm sewers, bicycle paths, sidewalks, and other projects affecting transportation. The local governments can pick the projects themselves with the Illinois Department of Transportation’s approval and oversight. This is the third of six money distributions for Rebuild Illinois that are expected to total $33.2 billion when they’re done.
