Last night on 1430 WCMY the Ottawa Lady Pirates dominated the lady Knights of Kaneland at Kingman Gym 43-24.
Leading the way for Ottawa, Zoe Harris had 13 points and 2 steals and Gabi Krueger scored 11 points and finished with three steals.
Serena defeated Indian Creek in overtime 57-49
The Lady Huskers were led by Katie Baker with 24 points and Paisley Twait’s 13 points and 11 rebounds
For boys basketball
Ottawa went on the road and outscored Kaneland 65-54
Anthony Cooper scored 24 points with 10 rebounds and Luke Cushing added 11 points with six assists in the Pirates victory.
St. Bede lost at Princeton 76-54.
Princeton senior Jamie Reinhardt finished with 27 points and reached 1,000 points for his high school career in the win.
In College Basketball
Notre Dame couldn’t keep up with North Carolina and lost 101-59 in the ACC tournament.
The Tar-Heels will face Virginia Tech in the next round.
Alfonso Rivas smacked a two-run double in the ninth, but the Cubs fell 7-6 to the Giants at Scottsdale Stadium. P.J. Higgins went deep for the Cubs who visit the Rockies today.
The Cardinals fell 3-2 to the Nationals at the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches. Nolan Arenado and John Nogowski drove in runs for St. Louis. Jack Flaherty allowed two runs over four innings for the loss. The Cards host the Astros tomorrow.
The White Sox visit the Reds tonight. Reynaldo López takes the mound for the Sox, Cincinnati counters with Tyler Mahle.
The Bulls host the Seventy-Sixers tonight in their first game back from the All-Star break. The Bulls are 2nd in the Central Division at 16-and-18.
The Blackhawks are at the Stars tonight. The Hawks were dismantled by Dallas 6-1 on Tuesday.
