Midwest Gas Prices Rise

(Springfield, IL) — Midwest gas prices rose for the second consecutive week and reached an average of three dollars 12 cents a gallon. Last week, the price is up from three dollars to four cents a gallon. The average fuel price in the region has increased by about 23 cents over the past month. A year ago, the average regional price of a gallon of gas was three percent higher at three dollars to 22 cents. Oil supply has been affected by a refinery shutdown in Indiana due to a power outage.
