The LaSalle County Board has approved a resolution asking Gov. Pritzker to veto the police reform bill the last legislature sent to him last month. Member Jerry Myers of Streator, a former State Police trooper, went along with it. However, he’s asking what good it will do. Myers doesn’t think the governor’s interested in what local governments have to say.
The bill contains things many police departments don’t like, sometimes because of cost and sometimes because it seems criminals will have an easy time.
