Ottawa Mayor Dan Aussem says garbage haulers need to register all of their vehicles that will be run on city streets with City Hall. The city became aware of one hauler who hadn’t done that. A city ordinance update this week means the city can order the company to stop those trucks.
After this week’s meeting, Aussem expected the owner to be in compliance within a couple days. If not, the city will find another hauler to pick up garbage from customers who would otherwise be suddenly without service.
