Almost four months after a LaSalle County prosecutor called him “the definition of a flight risk”, 39-year old Joshua N. Hamrick is wanted on a warrant for skipping bail. Hamrick is accused of aggravated fleeing and eluding police in connection with a chase in the Mendota area in August.

In October, Public Defender Tim Cappellini asked for Hamrick’s bond to be lowered from $20,000 to $7,500. Assistant State’s Attorney Matt Kidder objected. He noted that Hamrick was also wanted in the state of Oregon on drug charges. Judge H. Chris Ryan left bond at $20,000 and said it was low considering the charges. Hamrick posted bond a few days later.

Friday, the judge called Hamrick’s name for what was to be the final hearing before a trial Monday. But Hamrick wasn’t there and Cappellini said he hadn’t heard from his client lately. Judge Ryan issued a warrant.
