United Way of Eastern LaSalle County is proud to announce the distribution of $73,000 in funding grants

United Way Empowers Communities with Funding Grants

United Way of Eastern LaSalle County is proud to announce the distribution of $73,000 in funding grants to support and empower the local community. These grants are part of United Way of Eastern LaSalle County’s ongoing commitment to address critical issues for individuals and families in the local community.

The funding grants are for various local programs and initiatives addressing local needs and align with United Way’s areas of focus: education, health, and financial stability.

“Our Community Investment Committee is thankful for the generous donations that make this grant funding possible. Awarding local health and human service agencies these grants allow for our communities and the people within them, to thrive. It is a very rewarding experience to be a part of” said Ellie Rossiter, committee chairperson at United Way of Eastern LaSalle County.

“United Way of Eastern LaSalle County is only able to make this investment in local agencies because of the big-heartedness of our community members during the 2022 fall fundraising campaign,” said Sally Honiotes, Executive Director. “United Way remains committed to being a catalyst for positive change, and these funding grants represent a significant step toward building stronger, more resilient communities. By working together, we can create a lasting impact and make a difference in the lives of those who need it most,” Honiotes said.

Recipients of United Way of Eastern LaSalle County Community Investment funding grants are A Servant’s Heart, a community soup kitchen; Center for Youth & Family Solutions, counseling services; Community Food Basket, milk fund; Educate 35, in support of “Care Closet” for disadvantaged students; Prairie State Legal Services, civil legal services; Safe Journeys, domestic violence services and sexual assault services; Voluntary Action Center, Meals on Wheels; Youth Service Bureau of Illinois Valley, homeless youth prevention program and runaway and homeless youth program.
