Nine people have applied for an open judgeship in LaSalle, Bureau, and Grundy counties. They include former LaSalle County State’s Attorney Brian Towne and former State’s Attorney Karen Donnelly. Donnelly defeated Towne in the 2016 election and then was defeated in 2020.

Jeremiah Adams, Timothy Bass, Christina Cantlin-Van Wiggeren, Douglas Kramarsic, James Lindig, Bradley Popurella, and James Reilly are the others.

Illinois Supreme Court Justice Robert Carter will appoint a screening committee made up of lawyers and non-lawyers to help decide who gets the job. Meanwhile, the public can comment on the applicants until February 19 by contacting the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts. Comments should be brief and include contact information, such as the name and address. They can be sent until noon on February 19 to:
