Penguin Plunge to benefit Make-A-Wish® Illinois
Chilly fundraiser supports wishes for Illinois children with critical illnesses
WHO: More than 100 community supporters and wish families will gather as individuals and teams in support of wish kids across Illinois.
WHAT: Event participants have raised money to take the plunge, either fully jumping into an icy pond or dipping their toes, at the 14th annual Penguin Plunge to benefit Make-A-Wish Illinois. This annual winter fundraiser benefits Make-A-Wish Illinois and the organization’s mission to create life-changing wishes for Illinois children with critical illnesses.
WHERE: Skydive Chicago 3215 E 1969th Rd., Ottawa
WHEN: SATURDAY, JANUARY 27th 11 a.m. Registration Opens from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Music, food, and beverages at 12:30 p.m. Program including remarks from wish alumni family and Make-A-Wish representatives 1 p.m. Plunging Begins
WHY: Proceeds from this event benefit Make-A-Wish Illinois to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Make-A-Wish will grant more than 750 wishes for Illinois children with critical illnesses in the next year. Every 20 minutes somewhere in the country, a child is diagnosed with a critical illness. The hope and joy of a wish give wish children a better chance of surviving and thriving.
