(Chicago, IL) — The cold weather is causing problems for electric vehicles. In Chicago, some owners found that charging stations aren’t working and others were forced to deal with dead batteries after not being able to get to a charger in time.

Some EVs ran out of juice and had to be towed away. It started over the weekend and continues today, with EV drivers learning the hard way that their cars don’t go as far as they usually do when the temperatures are below zero.
