The LaSalle County Health Department says it got 1,900 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine this week. It’s working with the area hospitals to vaccinate health care workers. For now, they are the priority.
The general public can’t get the vaccines yet. The health department says it understands there are many other people who’d like to get shots now. But there aren’t enough to go around for everyone, so the people most likely to be exposed to the virus are getting shots first. There isn’t a list to get on to wait for it.
