Regular traffic is allowed on Canal Rd. again after a house fire this morning. The Ottawa Fire Department warns drivers that because of the cold, the water used for fighting the fire may be freezing. That could make the highway slick. Anyone driving on Canal Rd. this morning should be extremely careful.

Little, if any, traffic except for emergency vehicles is being allowed on Canal Rd. this morning. Fire fighters from many departments are battling a house fire. The first fire calls came in about 4:45am. We’ll provide more information as it becomes available to us.
Drivers who go between Marseilles and Ottawa should use US 6 instead. Those who live or work along Canal Rd. should expect delays getting in and out of the area.
