A few drivers license stations across the state are open, but most are closed for the next month to avoid spreading the coronavirus there. The ones in Dekalb and Princeton will be open for new drivers to take tests and get their licenses and for those getting commercial drivers licenses. CDL tests are being done by appointment only.
Anyone who would normally go to a drivers license station for a license plate renewal, a vehicle transfer, or other business is encouraged to do it online. The Secretary of State’s web site is at www.cyberdriveIllinois.com.
Drivers license expirations have been pushed off until June 1 next year.
