The Ottawa Elementary School District has had as much as $25 million in umbrella insurance coverage. But it’s down to $10 million and a lot of insurers aren’t providing more coverage during the pandemic. Supt. Cleve Threadgill informed the school board last week, he did find a provider willing to cover another $10 million. He expected to get it for around $30,000. Threadgill says it’s good to have plenty of insurance when there are so many school buses to run and so many students to look after.
