An Ottawa woman could have gone to prison but she’s starting four years on conditional discharge. Rosalina Resendez pled guilty to theft before Judge Cynthia Raccuglia yesterday. The 46-year old Resendez admitted embezzling money from the Olivero and Olivero law firm where she worked.
In her plea, she agrees to pay back $100,000, although the firm had accused her of taking at least $375,000 over a period of about a decade. The criminal case against her began in 2018.
