As of Sunday, LaSalle County has had 5,527 coronavirus cases with 3,104 recoveries. That leaves 2,423 active cases. The LaSalle County Health Department reported three more deaths Saturday for a total of 114 so far. Three men in their 80s are the latest from the county to die of the virus.
The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs says the number of LaSalle veterans home residents who have died of the virus is now 27. At that home, 103 residents and 94 employees have tested positive.
Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated the fatal countwide coronavirus case total was 118 as of Saturday. It did not reach 118 until Monday.
