The scandal she came in to help LaSalle County get through is over, but Joyce Tucker will stay on as the county’s finance director. The board this month took up a three-year contract for her with pay of $72,000 per year the first year.
Tucker was hired when Auditor Jody Wilkinson and her two employees were accused in an overtime pay theft scheme. They all beat the criminal charges and returned to work.
Tucker has been helping the county board make financial projections as revenues are squeezed and expenses keep going up. She’s also been involved in grant preparation and developing ethics policies.
