La Salle County, as per the standards set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), continues to be classified as at low risk for COVID-19, as reported by the La Salle County Health Department. In contrast, more than 40 counties in Illinois find themselves at a medium risk level, including Iroquois, Kankakee, Ford, and neighboring Marshall, while five counties are designated at high risk, according to the latest information available on the CDC website.

The community risk level in La Salle County is determined by a combination of factors. Over the past seven days leading up to Thursday, the CDC website indicates a rate of 4.4 new hospital admissions of confirmed COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents, with 2.8% of staffed inpatient beds being utilized by patients with confirmed cases of COVID-19. During the period from November 23 to December 1, the La Salle County Health Department confirmed 168 new COVID-19 cases. Since the onset of the pandemic, the county has recorded a total of 525 COVID-19-related deaths.
