Cong. Adam Kinzinger says he’ll keep the residents and staff at the veterans home in LaSalle in his prayers. He issued a statement over the weekend about the coronavirus outbreak there. The Illinois Department of Public Health confirmed 48 residents and 12 employees tested positive for the virus. Kinzinger says it’s paramount that we do all we can to try to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Kinzinger’s statement:
“I’m deeply concerned about the coronavirus cases at the LaSalle Veterans Home and will keep the residents and employees in my prayers for a full and speedy recovery. As we see the uptick of COVID-19 cases across Illinois and the country, it is paramount that we do all that we can to mitigate risks, especially when it comes to our most vulnerable population. My office will continue to support our VA community as we navigate this crisis together.”
