At one Election Poll in South Ottawa, voting has been non-stop since the doors opened today with lines out the door.
Dave McClure, an Election Judge at the Lions Club on Bellevue Road in Ottawa, said:
A common sentiment from Election Judges at 4 different polling places in Ottawa was that since early voting was so strong, the polls Tuesday might be quiet. The answer was no, turnout Tuesday as of noon was as strong.
Voters told WCMY news they were motivated by everything from a desire to do their civic duty, to being motivated by Trump.
Polls opened at 6 a.m. across Illinois, including La Salle County.
They will close at 7 p.m.
Voters at the polls Tuesday morning say they don’t care who you vote for, just vote, and do your duty as a citizen.
