Oglesby City Attorney James Andreoni says the COVID-19 mitigation rules will be enforced there. Police won’t actually write tickets though. They’ll send information to other enforcers.

Andreoni explained at last night’s City Council meeting, it would be foolish to think the state can’t enforce its rules. He says selling liquor requires local and state liquor licenses. So even if a local government doesn’t enforce bar and restaurant closing times, the state can punish at least some of the businesses the businesses that don’t comply.

Andreoni also cautioned business owners who hear of legal challenges to the governor’s orders in other areas. He says a win in court for someone else doesn’t automatically mean everyone gets a pass.
