The Ottawa City Council announced this week a speaker system that will allow for music to be played throughout downtown will be in place before Thanksgiving.

Mayor Dan Aussem says the goal is to have both wireless internet for an area stretching from Lafayette Street to the Jordan block and the speaker system in place for the Holiday Season and Chris Kringle Markets.

Its believed WiFi will bring a better quality of life to the downtown Ottawa area that not a lot of other downtowns would be able to support.

Surf Broadband will be the High Speed Fiber wireless provider and Airnetix will install the speakers.
