When the Peru police department gets a new police station, the people who dispatch the emergency services in that area will move into the old one. Police Chief Doug Bernabei says the Illinois Valley Regional Dispatch center is crammed into a 280 square foot spot now. It’ll get nearly 3,000 square feet in its new space after remodeling.
IVRD is run by Peru, LaSalle, Oglesby, and Mendota. Peru’s city council has approved the deal and so must the other cities’ councils for the deal to take effect.
