Illinois Valley Community College is preparing to offer consumer identity theft monitoring to students and staff affected by a data breach earlier this year. Hackers got into IVCC’s computers six months ago. At least one hacker group is offering the stolen data for a price, according to a business that monitors such things.
The Kroll company offers identity theft monitoring, fraud consultation, and identity restoration. IVCC is paying $259,157 for the service.
