It’s not too late to be counted in the US census and it means big money to towns in the Illinois Valley.
Marseilles Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says:
The percentage of Marseilles residents who have taken part in the census is slowly creeping up at 68%. However Marseilles is still behind Seneca and Ottawa.
If you are not part of the census, it calculates out to a loss of about $2,500 dollars per person for each municipality.
When a community is undercounted in the US census, it means it is getting underfunded and underserved.
