Robert Charles Kember, 84, of Serena, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Friday, November 10, 2023, at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa with Chaplain Dave VanLaar, officiating. Burial will follow at West Serena Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Bob was born on March 3, 1939, in Sandwich to Charles and Shirley (Brandenburg) Kember. He was a graduate of Serena High School. Bob worked as a farmer. He married Barbara Scidmore on March 6, 1960, at Serena Methodist Church. He loved raising black Angus cattle, fishing, gardening, and being a Chicago Cubs, Bulls, and Bears fan.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Kember, of Serena; two children, Laurie (Tom White) Kember, of Ottawa, Karie Kember, of Serena; three grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Kember, of Lombard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Shirley; a son Jay Kember; and a brother, Jerry Kember
Pallbearers will be George J. Wawerski, Michael Ulrich, Tom White, Jim Olson, Mark Miller, and Jeff Kember.
