An Oglesby police officer thought he wasn’t being paid enough. He was right. The city made a payroll mistake in the case of Officer Hugo Gonzalez. The City Council has put on file an agreement to compensate him nearly $6,500 in money he should have been paid already.
City Commissioner Carrie Lijewski says an auditor looked into the matter after Gonzalez brought it to the city’s attention. At this week’s meeting, the city council didn’t go into how the mistake happened or exactly how long it’s been going on.
