The Fall trout fishing season opens Saturday October 17 including at the Hennepin Canal Parkway in Bureau County and at the I & M canal at Lock 14 just south of Downtown La Salle.
Mike McClelland, the Chief of Fisheries with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources says stocking at those two locations will take place this week.

Fishing licenses and trout stamps can be purchased by using a credit card through the Department of Natural Resources Direct online via the their website at : www2.illinois.gov
or by calling DNR Direct toll-free at 1-888-673-7648.
The daily catch limit is 5 trout per angler.
Participants are reminded to follow current pandemic protocols including social distancing, masks and use of hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol.
