You can have your pet blessed this Saturday in Ottawa.
The blessing will take place at Christ Episcopal Church, 113 E. Lafayette Street in Ottawa.
Joanne Kammerer of Marseilles and a regular attendee at the Church has the details:
Joanne says they have blessed many different types of pets in the past. A rat, a hedgehog, chickens and even a snake have been blessed but usually people just bring dogs and cats.
The annual blessing has been taking place for the past 10 years.
This year Joanne hopes there will be a good turnout. There have been well attended blessings in the past of up to 40 people, each with a pet, and also years with just a few pets blessed because other events happening at the same time.
Social distancing and mask wearing are appreciated. No registration is required.
